Lockdown sketchbook challenge

I’m very fortunate to live in the Scottish Borders, where we have a garden and access to beautful and varied countryside. All my life, I have escaped into and explored my surroundings by walking, cycling or running. Since having a family, the daily outings have been essential to my wellbeing. They are also essential to my art, and I am happiest sketching outdoors with a pot of ink and whatever art supplies I have shoved into my pocket. All of this goes directly into my printmaking.

When lockdown began, I continued using my daily outing to capture the landscape and wildlife. I was posting on social media, and was challenged by 40 Days Challenge to do this every day for 40 days. This was something a bit different - I’m used to choosing whether I take a sketchbook on a cycle or walk - but I took up the challenge.

Here is some of my work - most of it in a big concertina sketchbook I made for myself.
