Stall at Norham sportive - A Bridge too Far
I decided to try and sell my hand printed stuff at this year's A Bridge too Far sportive, organised by cycling club The Berwick Wheelers. I rode the event last year, and it was a lovely, relaxed Autumnal cycle on local roads and with a fish and chip van at the finish. I'd recommend it to anyone - it's short and informal enough for beginners but lots of experienced cyclists take part too, as an end of season social ride.
This year, I'll be manning or womanning a stall instead. Many of my prints and designs are based on cyclists, bikes and vintage riders. In fact some might say I'm a bit obsessed with cycling - the only TV I watch these days is Eurosport. I'm also interested in cycling history, particularly it's role in female emancipation and the expansion of horizons for everyday folk in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth century. So, I decided to take the plunge and set up a stall.
It's all been a bit of a learning curve. I've completed a set of original designs that will feature on:
- T-shirts
- Tote bags
- Drawstring bags
- Cards
